Class of 2029 to host Special Olympics

Darlington’s freshman class will partner with Rome-Floyd Parks & Recreation to host the Floyd County Special Olympics on the school’s campus on Tuesday, April 14. Hundreds of young athletes representing Rome City Schools, Floyd County Schools, DIGS and other local organizations will participate in the annual event.

Fourth-graders had an unforgettable day at the Georgia State Capitol and Georgia Supreme Court. The group was warmly welcomed by State Rep. Katie Dempsey, who recognized them on the House floor during a live legislative session and later hosted a special pizza lunch inside the Capitol.
