Pre-K to 8 Parent and Student Handbook 2023-2024

Darlington faculty and staff members are expected, at all times, to communicate with parents in a professional manner. Parents are asked to reciprocate by treating teachers and staff with the same courtesy at all times. In order to establish direct lines of communication, we request that parents wishing to contact teachers or administrators follow this process: 

• All initial questions about class routine, grading, homework, pedagogy or incidents within the classroom should be directed to the classroom teacher or the advisor.     
• If further assistance is necessary, then communication with the administration is the next appropriate step.
• Concerns regarding Pre-K to 8 Tiger Pride events and after-school enrichment should be directed to Chris Eberhart, Director of Student Activities. 
• Concerns regarding 6-8 Sports should be directed to Eddie Guth, Athletic Director.
• Concerns regarding Pre-K to 8 in discipline, curriculum, teachers, or student life should be directed to Angela Pieroni, Assistant Director of Pre-K to 8.
• The Director of Pre-K to 8 is always available to meet with parents. 

Parents should check the school’s website, www.darlingtonschool.org, regularly for current news, information, and announcements. All teachers, administrators, and staff members have Darlington email addresses that are available in the online Faculty Directory. Parents are encouraged to use email to communicate with individual teachers in a positive and constructive fashion.
