The Darlington School Class of 2026 marked a milestone as graduates, families and faculty gathered for the school’s 121st commencement ceremony that was filled with reflection, celebration and anticipation for the future.
At Darlington School, physics students traded notebooks for paddles this week, putting their knowledge to the test in the school’s annual Physics Boat Race — a tradition that has been held for more than 30 years.
Cam Selig became the Great White North’s gift to Darlington basketball about two years ago, and with him the Tigers and head coach Nathan West were able to soar all the way to the top in 2026 as GHSA Private A-AAA boys champions. Selig is still thinking about championships, this time at the NCAA Division II level, as Thursday he signed his national letter-of-intent to play at Auburn University-Montgomery.
Darlington is pleased to welcome the following new faculty and staff members for the 2026-2027 school year and announce those with new or additional roles.
At 12:30 p.m. on May 13, on courts 41-45 at the Rome Tennis Center at Berry College, it’s the Private A-AAA boys championship. Darlington School’s Tigers and Greater Atlanta Christian made sure it was a No. 1 against No. 2 battle, Darlington doing its part Friday eliminating No. 3 Athens Academy in Rome 3-0.
The Tiger boys, at the Rome Tennis Center at Berry College, defeated Lovett School of Atlanta 3-0 in the GHSA Private A-AAA “Elite 8” round to advance to the semifinals, or “Final 4.” The No. 2-seeded boys team in the bracket will return to its courts on the Darlington campus Friday and face No. 3 Athens Academy beginning at 4 p.m.
Ten members of the varsity baseball team have been named to the All-Region team, with junior Jackson Loy being named the All-Region Offensive Player of the Year.
The varsity track and field teams competed at the GHSA A-3A Private School Sectional B meet on Saturday, May 2 at Greater Atlanta Christian School, where several athletes from each team qualified for state.
Lee Donahue is making strides to cross the finish line not only in his high school career but also on his Floyd County 4-H senior project, and there is still time for locals to participate by giving back to a slew of organizations in the area.
