Darlington School will officially welcome the holidays with the 42nd Annual Service of Lessons & Carols on Sunday, Dec. 14, at 7 p.m. in Morris Chapel. This free event is open to the public and sponsored by the Darlington "Y" Cabinet, and will be led primarily by members of the student body.
Junior Caroline Sawhill recently graduated from the second cohort of Youth LEAD Georgia, a transformative leadership program housed in and facilitated by the University of Georgia’s J.W. Fanning Institute for Leadership Development in partnership with Chick-fil-A. She joined 27 other high school students from across the State of Georgia in this highly selective, competitive program.
Sophomore Wren Booker has been selected for the Youth LEAD Georgia 2026 cohort, along with 29 high school students from across the State of Georgia. Participants will join a transformative year-long leadership initiative facilitated by the University of Georgia’s J.W. Fanning Institute for Leadership Development in partnership with Chick-fil-A.

Upper School Spanish teachers Carmen Gonzalez and Lisy Hammontree will be offering an exciting opportunity to travel to Seville, Spain, June 14-27, 2026. This two-week Spanish immersion program offers students the opportunity to strengthen their language skills while discovering one of Europe’s most culturally rich cities.

SAT scores for seniors at Darlington were above the local, state and national averages, according to The College Board. Darlington posted a total mean score of 1153, 97 points higher than the state average of 1056, 68 points higher than the national average of 1085, and 76 points higher than the next-best reported average score in the area.
Senior Ruthie Brinson has been named to the Georgia Volleyball Coaches Association (GVCA) 1A All-State First Team. She notably finished her senior season with a .470 hitting percentage, which ranks 21st in the nation, eighth in Georgia and first in the 1A division.
