Joe was named special advisor for philanthropy in 2020 after serving previously as assistant head of school for strategic initiatives and chief advancement officer since 2004. He has over three decades of experience in wealth management/banking and in fundraising for private educational institutions. He holds a B.A. from Stetson University, an M.A. in Philanthropy and Development from LaGrange College, and has completed additional studies at Harvard University’s Institute of Educational Management in the Graduate School of Education and the University of Oklahoma’s ABA School of Banking and Williamsburg Development Institute. Joe and his wife, Rebekah (’78), are the parents of Anne (Montgomery ’05) Parker, Mary Beth (Montgomery ’08) Ball and Hannah Montgomery (’10).

Darlington to honor Dr. Elson Floyd ('74) with Celebration of Life service

Darlington School will host a Celebration of Life service in memory of Dr. Elson S. Floyd ('74) on Wednesday, Sept. 23, at 3 p.m. in Morris Chapel. The 2004 Distinguished Alumnus and lifelong friend of the school passed away in June due to complications from cancer.
