Let’s get to know Ava Ann Woods, a 14-year day student from Rome who serves as head day prefect of Thornwood House and is very involved in the arts.

What are you involved in?
Head Prefect of Thornwood House, Student Activities Committee, “Y” Cabinet, visual arts representative, Prom Committee, social chair for Concert Choir, winter musical cast, volleyball team, The Darlingtones a cappella group, The Darlington Players, Young Republicans
If you are involved in fine arts, what is your favorite activity and why?
I love Light the Lake. I love how it brings everyone together with music and art to honor those who have passed or survived cancer.
What's your favorite place on campus and why?
Silver Lake because it is so peaceful to walk around when you need a breather.
Who's your favorite teacher and why?
Mrs. Shores - she is so funny and if you need help with literally anything in life she will help you through it. I feel like when I graduate and need help with something, if I need to call her and talk to her about it she will help me.
What’s your favorite thing about Darlington?
The community
Describe an experience that you've had at Darlington that you couldn't have had anywhere else.
RUMPUS - it challenges your strength mentally and physically.
What are some of the ways you've grown since you first came to Darlington?
I feel like I have grown as a leader. By putting myself into leadership positions early on, I have been able to learn how to conquer conflicts in a timely manner while also being able to problem solve.
What is your dream job?
Interior design
