A Darlington student is made up of many things. None of which is average. We help our students develop their interests, passions and pursuits, because we believe every individual has something to contribute. We also believe that only when you're 100% you, are you 100% Darlington.
Here at Darlington, every student’s path is different. We think that's a good thing.
In this #SeniorSpotlight, get to know Kathryn Davidson, a four-year day student from Rome who has performed in nine shows with The Darlington Players.

If you are involved in fine arts, what is your favorite activity and why?
My favorite activity in fine arts is acting because it always brings a smile to my face after a long day. I especially love musical theater because it combines so many of my passions, including acting, singing, and dancing.
What's your favorite place on campus and why?
My favorite place on campus is the chorus room because I love to swap between playing ukulele and piano during free periods. It gives me a space to clear my head and be creative on my own time.
Who's your favorite teacher and why?
Wow, I have too many to name! I would have to say my favorite teachers are Ms. Shelley Daniel, who has always supported me and helped me to grow as both a person and an actor; Ms. Alex Johnson, who creates such a safe environment to be creative; Mr. Mike Hudson, who spent so much extra time practicing problems with me to prep for the AP Biology exam; and Ms. Jaclyn Haynes, whose cheerful personality and teaching methods always made me smile.
What's your favorite thing about Darlington?
I have two favorite things about Darlington: the theater department and the community built among faculty and students.
Describe an experience that you've had at Darlington that you couldn't have had anywhere else.
Performing “Sabrina Fair” in The Cove was an experience I couldn't have had anywhere else. While many other schools attempted to perform inside or couldn't perform at all, we were able to put on a full-length play safely for the audience, cast, and crew, and I am beyond proud of our product.
What are some of the ways you've grown since you first came to Darlington?
I have grown in confidence, artistic ability, identity, and resilience.
Where do you want to go to college and what is your dream job?
I am still in the final audition stages for two of the schools I am considering, but my top choices right now are Emerson College, American University, and Auburn University for their strong musical theater programs. My dream job is to be a performer in some way, whether that be with theater, film, or something I haven't discovered yet.
