Thirty-seven Darlington students have been recognized by the Duke University Talent Identification Program’s 4th and 5th Grade Talent Search, which honors those who have scored at the 95th percentile or higher on a grade-level achievement test.

“This is truly a testament to the type of students we have at Darlington,” said Academic Dean David Powell. "We are so proud of all of our fourth- and fifth-graders who qualified for this great honor."

Fourth-graders receiving Duke TIP recognition include Madeline Bradshaw, Lawson Brown, Cooper Cates, Cora Linos, Luke McDurmon, Luke Lewis, Caroline McRay, Graysen Morgan, Trinity Pyle, Garrett Price, Tate Roberts and Ivy Watters.

Fifth-graders receiving Duke TIP recognition include Carter Anderson, Caleb Baldwin, Will Bowman, Molly Brewer, Griffin Brewster, Hank Crawford, John Prosser Deaton, Chloe Duck, Frances Fields, Aidan Gaines, Alex Liddle, Frank Manning, Teagan Martin, Jalyn Massey, Kate Monroe, Kobe Nadu, Anish Patel, Chandler Pittman, Spencer Shadday, Sophie Stepp, Thomas Swiger, Grace Temple, Hampton Watkins, Grace Watters and Dawson Williams.

These students join the 24 Darlington seventh-graders who qualified for Duke TIP earlier this year. Since 1980, more than 2 million gifted students have participated in Duke TIP’s Talent Searches. The talent search program provides educational resources and opportunities to the qualifying students who choose to participate.
