Twenty-four Darlington students have been recognized by the Duke University Talent Identification Program’s 7th Grade Talent Search, which honors those who have scored at the 95th percentile or higher on a grade-level achievement test. As part of the program, these students have the opportunity to take the SAT or ACT.
"Sixty-three percent of our seventh grade qualified this year," said James Hutchins, director of PK-8. "This is outstanding news! We are very proud of our students."
Students receiving Duke TIP recognition include Jack Albertson, Claire Anderson, Hannah Buttshaw, Bryson Collier, Caroline Cordell, Ishani Desai, Tigger Frix, Katie Kuckhoff, Nika Lowery, Callie Maffett, Jack McClain, Clayburn Milford, Pierce Monroe, Anna Kate Roberts, Maddie Sabourin, Abby Sklar, Abigail Smith, Kelan Stepp, Dalton Stinson, Karl Swiger, Emily Taylor, Caroline Temple, Hillary Tunnell and Fowler Walker.
Since 1980, more than 2 million gifted students have participated in Duke TIP’s Talent Searches.
