It’s hard to believe, but here we are. The final stretch of the school year. Like any meaningful journey, this moment invites us to slow down and take in just how far we’ve come.
Since September, we have framed this year as a road trip. Along the way, our students have built habits, navigated challenges, taken risks, and grown in confidence and independence. While we often measure progress in grades and milestones, some of the most important growth has happened in quieter ways. Learning to be responsible. Learning to be a good friend. Learning to try again when something feels hard.
It brings me back to two ideas we have shared together this year. The simple, lasting truths from "All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten" remind us to be kind, share, take turns, and take care of one another. And the research from "10 to 25" reminds us that our children are still learning how to make decisions, manage emotions, and grow into themselves. When you hold those two ideas together, you begin to see this year clearly. Our students are doing the important work of becoming.
The backpack that once felt too big in August now fits just right. Routines feel more natural. Goals that once seemed just out of reach have been met through effort and persistence. Growth is happening, even when it is not always easy to see in the moment.
Now we look ahead to a season of celebration. In the coming weeks, we will gather to honor your children through Final Assemblies, Field Day, grade-level traditions, and milestone ceremonies. These moments allow us to recognize not just what they have accomplished, but who they are becoming.
Thank you for your partnership and trust this year. It has been a privilege to walk alongside you and your children.
