Junior Chaebeom Lim has been selected to participate in the mathematics category of the Governor's Honors Program.

"Chaebeom is an excellent student," said Director of Upper School Chad Woods. "This recognition is well-deserved and I know Chaebeom will continue to represent the school well. I am very proud of him!"

A boarding student at Darlington since tenth grade, Lim has completed eight Honors AP courses and was named an AP Scholar with Distinction Award by The College Board. He is a member of the DarBots robotics team and the National Honor Society. Also a member of the math team, he is currently enrolled in both Linear Algebra and Multi-Variable Calculus after excelling in AP Calculus BC last year.

One of the top STEM researchers in the state, Lim showcased his experimental work at the Northwest Georgia Regional Science & Engineering Fair in Cartersville, Ga., earlier this year. He earned top honors at the event and will be advancing to the Georgia Science & Engineering Fair (GSEF) in Athens on March 26-28.

Lim is the son of Hana Seo and Hyungtag Lim of Seoul, Korea.

The Georgia Governor’s Honors Program (GHP) is a residential summer program for skilled, knowledgeable, and talented high school sophomores and juniors. GHP offers instruction that is significantly different from the typical high school classroom and is designed to provide students with academic, cultural, and social enrichment necessary to become the next generation of global critical thinkers, innovators, and leaders.

GHP is held in mid-summer (mid-June to mid-July) as a residential educational experience on a college or university campus. Students attend classes in the mornings and afternoons in specific areas of study, and they participate in a wide variety of social and instructional opportunities every evening.
