Let’s get to know Anaya Desai, a nine-year day student from Rome who serves as president of the Honor Council and recently created the artwork featured on this year’s Giving Day sticker.

“Friends”

Regester
What are you involved in at Darlington?
Honor Council (president), Register House dorm leader, tennis, robotics
If you play sports, who is your favorite coach and why?
My favorite coach is Mr. Owens. He always pushes us to be our best and is super supportive of everything we do as players and students.
What's your favorite place on campus and why?
Regester House is my favorite place on campus because it has helped me meet and connect with so many students that I don't normally get to see in the school day.
Who's your favorite teacher and why?
My favorite teachers are Mrs. Owens, Mrs. Smyly and Mr. Shorey. They are all so caring and have always taken interest in everything I am doing inside and outside of class.
What’s your favorite thing about Darlington?
My favorite thing about Darlington is the familial community.
Describe an experience that you've had at Darlington that you couldn't have had anywhere else.
Being able to make friends that are from around the world!
What are some of the ways you've grown since you first came to Darlington?
I have gained incredible leadership experience and have learned how to work with others.
What is your dream job?
I want to be an industrial or mechanical engineer and work for a car company in the future.
