Brant Evans

Brant came to Darlington in 2008 and currently serves as dean of student life at the Upper School. He also teaches AP government classes and coaches baseball. Brant holds a B.A. in History and an M.Ed. in Social Sciences from the University of Georgia. His wife, Ashley, teaches Spanish and coaches cheerleading and diving.


Jill Babb

Jill has been head of Cooper House, the first-year girls’ house, since 2011. She holds a B.S. in Leisure Studies from Southeast Missouri State University and an M.S. in Recreation, Park & Tourism Administration from Western Illinois University. Jill has over 20 years of experience working at sleep-away camp and continues to spend her summers in this residential setting. Her husband, Chris, is a science teacher at the Upper School.


Kim Bell

Kim Bell has been head of Regester House since 2017. She holds a B.S. in Economics and an M.B.A., both from Shorter College. Bell has more than 20 years of experience in training and team building, most recently as CFO and human resources director at Fox Trucking. The majority of her career has been spent in finance and operations, and she has enjoyed the opportunity to focus on teaching and mentoring teams. Bell also spent 15 years managing the college intern program at multiple financial institutions and five years teaching management, leadership, economics, finance, and communication courses at Shorter College as an adjunct instructor. She and her husband Paul, Darlington's database administrator, are the parents of Reese ('26).


Karen Calvert

Head of Thornwood House

Karen Calvert has been head of Thornwood House since 2018. She holds an A.A. from Spartanburg Community College and has spent the last 18 years working for Wells Fargo. She currently serves as vice president and implementation consultant, working with project managers to establish implementation strategy, methods, and plans for strategic initiatives that impact multiple systems, workflows, or products. Karen has also served as a Girl Scout leader, volunteered with her church youth group, and chaperoned mission trips.


Denise Evans

Denise has served as the executive assistant in Darlington’s Student Life Office since 1996. She received the William Gordon Neville Jr. House Senate Faculty Award in 2006 and was instrumental in starting the Darlington Diamonds dance program during the 2006-07 school year. Denise enjoys artwork, photography, music and traveling. She and her husband, Wayne, are the parents of Darlington alumni Bryan (’99) and Russell (’03).


Doug Hamil

Doug became Head of Moser House in 2014 following seven years of service as director of graphic design in the school's Communication Office. He holds an associate’s degree in Visual Communication from The Art Institute of Atlanta, and has over 30 years of experience in advertising, graphic design and multimedia communications. He is also an accomplished illustrator. Prior to his work at Darlington, Doug owned and operated Doug Hamil Advertising Inc. An Eagle Scout, he has also been an active Boy Scout leader since 2003.


Tara Inman

Tara joined Darlington's student life team in 2002 and was named dean of students for global education in 2016. Previously, she held the roles of director of ESL, spiritual life coordinator and head of house. Tara holds a B.A. and an M.A.T., both from Carson-Newman College. She and her husband Brian, an Upper School history teacher, live on campus with their children, Maggie ('19), Davis ('23), Wesley ('23) and Harrison ('26).


Jennifer Rundles

Associate Dean of Students; Science Teacher, Upper School

Jennifer Rundles has served as associate dean of student life and taught science at the Upper School since 2018. She holds a B.S. in Chemistry from Tougaloo College and an M.A.T. in Secondary Education from the University of Phoenix. Jennifer spent 15 years at St. Mary's School in Raleigh, N.C., where she was associate dean of students and science teacher. There, she also held the positions of interim dean of students and associate dean of teaching and learning. Jennifer is a member of the EdLeader21 Advisory Board, TABS Annual Conference Committee and has served on SAIS Accreditation Teams. She has aslo presented at the National Coalition for Girls School annual Conference and is an SAIS and TABS New Teacher Training faculty member.


Randy Smith

Randy joined the faculty in 2000 as a science teacher and was named head of Summerbell House, the first-year boys’ house, in 2017. He has also coached middle school football, wrestling and soccer. With over 25 years of experience in the classroom, Randy holds a B.S.Ed. in Math and Science from Georgia Southern University as well as an M.Ed. and an Ed.S., both in Math and Science, from Georgia State University. He has been a recipient of Darlington's Brown Faculty Award, a co-recipient of the 2012 Carla and Leonard Wood Faculty Professional Development Endowment Award, and a co-recipient of the 2014 Beachum Master Teacher Award. Randy and his wife, Leigh Ann, have three children, Rand ('18), Lila ('20) and Bradley ('23).


John Zazzaro

John has been head of Neville House and since 2011. He holds a B.A. in History from the College of Wooster and an M.A. in Social Sciences from Wesleyan University. John has more than 20 years of experience teaching, coaching and working in residential life. He and his wife, Bebe, Darlington's Pre-K to 8 counselor, have two children, Casey ('19) and Colin ('19).
