The Upper School Band traveled to their Large Group Performance Evaluation at Woodland High School Performing Arts Center in Cartersville, Ga., where they received an overall "Superior" rating from the judges.
For this event, they prepared three pieces that were chosen from a list published by GMEA. These pieces had to be prepared at the most detailed level. Then the band was then asked to sight read an entire band piece, meaning they played the piece with no time to practice it.
Our Upper School Band represented Darlington very well, and te judges were impressed with the work that the students had put in. Their exact score was two "Superior" ratings from judges of the prepared piece, a "Superior" rating from the sight reading judge, and one "Excellent" rating from one prepared piece judge. The hard work that these musicians put in during our winter rehearsals has paid off with this accomplishment. Congratulations to our Talented Tigers!
