The youngest members of Darlington's band program have received their new instruments! This year's fourth grade band truly embraces our Fine Arts season of Discovery as they take their very first steps in the journey of learning to play a band instrument. After completing Pre-Instrument Training Camp, they are now opening their cases and doing so much of the work that is required to start playing. These musicians have learned to assemble the instruments, hold them, sit with good posture, use good air support, create a tone on the mouthpiece and instrument, a few starting notes, and they continue to master reading rhythms, pitches, and note names. The fourth grade band is making some wonderful sounds that will no doubt only get better! We are proud of these talented Tigers for taking on the challenge of becoming an instrumental performer.
