The varsity cross country teams traveled to John Hunt Cross Country Park in Huntsville, Alabama to compete in the Southern Showcase, a competitive regional meet. Senior Lee Donahue placed 11th out of 435 athletes with a time of 16:38, earning podium recognition. Junior Cora Fannin also reached the podium with a 12th place finish out of 183 competitors in her race. The boys' team placed 11th out of 52 teams competing at the meet. These results reflect the hard work our runners have put in this summer and throughout the season so far as we approach the mid-point of our schedule. Our large home event, the Darlington Cross Country Festival, is our next meet in two weeks on September 27. Congratulations to all our athletes who competed.
