Students in pre-K through second grade participated in the 2024 Art in 3D Discover Day provided by the fine arts department. Students experienced a discovery of cause and effect in the three areas of music, visual art and storytelling.
Guest artist and parent Siri Selle designed and helped students create a mural from a color mixing activity, and music therapist Zoe Reddick, along with Pre-K to 8 music teacher Spenser Dunn, led the students in musical activities tied to two books about cause and effect. The third activity, led by Pre-K to 8 Librarian Mary Kate Fowee, offered an oral storytelling experience, allowing students the opportunity to create stories from given and chosen promps.
These three experiences were the result of inspiration gained from reading the books "Because" by Mo Willems and Amber Ren and "Acorn" by Lola and Adam Schaefer and illustrated by Fann Preston-Gannon, and offered a connection for all involved.
