This year's third-grade community project focuses on recreational opportunities for young people in Rome and Floyd County. The property auction is an exciting experience for the third-graders and for the teachers, parents, and guests as well! As an important part of our annual community project, the land auction event provides the opportunity for student groups to bid on and "purchase" recreational facilities. After securing winning bids, each student group wrote imaginary checks payable to auctioneer Lou Dempsey ('87, LD '17) of Dempsey Auction Co. for their properties. The groups will now construct the recreational facilities to make up their model community. We are very appreciative of Mr. Dempsey's continued support in making this a memorable event for our third-graders!
