First-graders, with the help of Austin’s mom, Cloris, began celebrating the Chinese New Year today. We learned about the history of the holiday, Chinese traditions and enjoyed some delicious food. Students enjoyed looking at traditional Chinese lanterns, using their own chopsticks and wearing dragon masks while dancing to traditional Chinese music for the Year of the Dragon.
