Mr. Ivester and Mr. Eberhart reviewed the concept of adding and subtracting integers utilizing the concrete and pictorial methods. The concrete method had students using counters as floats and anchors, while the pictorial had students creating a number line to show movement through addition and subtraction. The students were then able to play a game of "Dunk It," which gave them the opportunity to strategize how to make the highest total when adding and subtracting positive and negative numbers. The lesson went really well and the students enjoyed the fun activity!
