One of Mrs. Massey's favorite resources for reading non-fiction text comprehension is Scholastic News. Each issue is filled with interesting science and social studies information, as well as current events and news topics. We preview the questions and vocabulary words, read the articles with partners or in small groups and highlight the evidence in the text to help us answer the questions. We also love the maps, charts and graphs in each issue! We use the digital resource online to watch videos about the topics, play games and hear the text read aloud.
