Students in grades 1 and 2 recently studied complete and incomplete metamorphosis. They observed firsthand the life cycles of moths and butterflies. First-grade students helped release the Painted Lady butterflies that were in the Science Lab. These butterflies came to us as caterpillars and went through their life cycle change. The Painted Lady butterfly may be one of the most widespread butterflies in the world found in North and South America, Europe, Asia and Africa. This insect likes both temperate and tropical climates.
