The fourth-grade girls are following in the footsteps of Lily, the main character in the novel, "Lily's Crossing." Every year when we have our all-girls and all-boys reading classes, the girls dress up like Lily. She wears red lipstick, sunglasses and a sailor's hat so she can sneak around town without being recognized.
