Let’s get to know Sidney Rush, a ten-year day student from Rome whose favorite experience at Darlington was being a dorm leader in Cooper House.
When you think of Darlington, what three words come to mind first?
Friends, family and fun!
What's your favorite show to binge watch?
My favorite show to binge watch is "Gossip Girl" because I love all of the actors and it has a really good storyline!
What's your favorite restaurant in Rome?
My favorite restaurant in Rome is Bluefin because I love sushi and it has a great atmosphere!
What house are you a member of?
Cooper
What are you involved in?
I am in three clubs—Young Republicans, LLS, and Advancement Ambassadors—while also playing two sports, basketball and volleyball, and serving as a day leader in Cooper House.
If you play sports, who is your favorite coach and why?
My favorite coach is my mom Samantha Rush the girls varsity basketball coach. She cares a lot about the sport and pushes all of the girls on the team to be their best everyday and I really admire that and it pushes me to be the best version of myself not only on the basketball court but everywhere.
If you are involved in fine arts, what is your favorite activity and why?
I am involved in yearbook and it is my favorite activity because I get to be creative while also being in a class surround by all of my best friends!
What's your favorite place on campus and why?
My favorite place on campus is the Student Center because there is always something fun going on and my friends are always in there!
Who's your favorite teacher and why?
Mrs. Baldwin because she made me love Spanish and made learning a new language enjoyable.
My other favorite teacher is Mr. Pender because he always makes yearbook class fun and enjoyable for everyone!
What’s your favorite thing about Darlington?
My favorite thing about Darlington is being surrounded by people from all different backgrounds and different experiences!
Describe an experience that you've had at Darlington that you couldn't have had anywhere else.
Being a dorm leader is one of my favorite things and I wouldn’t have gotten any experience anywhere else other than Darlington! I love being in the dorm and getting to know all the girls and Darlington has allowed me to do that!
What are some of the ways you've grown since you first came to Darlington?
I have become more outgoing which has given me a lot of opportunities!!
What is your dream job?
Marketing director for big company
