Let’s get to know Mac Walker, a four-year day student from Rome whose favorite place on campus is the Huffman parking lot because of the conversations he has with friends there.

If you play sports, who is your favorite coach and why?
Coach hunt - he is my favorite because of his personality. He knows how to be a coach at times where he needs to be and he knows how to be a friend when needed. Coach Hunt is a man that I personally would strive to be like.
What's your favorite place on campus and why?
My favorite place is the Huffman parking lot, specifically after school when everybody is out there getting stuff for practice or just hanging out. Some of the best conversations I’ve had were in that parking lot.
Who's your favorite teacher and why?
My favorite teacher is Mr. Cox. I had him freshman year and back then he was not my favorite, however having him as a senior I gained a sense of respect for him. He treats his seniors like the adults we are and that type of respect goes both ways. He has a great understanding of where his students are at in life and is able to be lenient and strict at the same time.
What’s your favorite thing about Darlington?
My favorite thing about Darlington is the rotating schedule, having a change in schedule every day keeps me from getting bored.
Describe an experience that you've had at Darlington that you couldn't have had anywhere else.
Rumpus is an experience I couldn’t have gotten anywhere else, the connections I made with dorm students from all around the world is something I value greatly.
What are some of the ways you've grown since you first came to Darlington?
I have grown in my friendships since I have been at Darlington. When I first came I had a tight circle of friends and didn’t put in effort to change that, over the years I have built connections with friends I would have never talked to my freshman year.
What is your dream job?
My dream job is to be a financial advisor, following my grandpa, uncle, and cousin who have done the same.
