A Darlington student is made up of many things. None of which is average. We help our students develop their interests, passions and pursuits, because we believe every individual has something to contribute. We also believe that only when you're 100% you, are you 100% Darlington.
Here at Darlington, every student’s path is different. We think that's a good thing.
Let’s get to know Alexis Origbe, a two-year boarding student from Lagos, Nigeria, whose favorite thing about Darlington is the freedom to try new things.

What are you involved in?
Founder of Beyond The Page Club, the winter musical “Hadestown,” football varsity cheer, varsity lacrosse goalie, Concert Choir and Darlingtones
If you play sports, who is your favorite coach and why?
Coach Coccia because she helped me grow not only as a more respectable goalie but all in all as a person. Helped me manage my emotions after a rough game or give me tips on the field and on other stuff in the real world.
If you are involved in fine arts, what is your favorite activity and why?
My favourite is Concert Choir because it is such a tight knit community and everyone gets along with each other. And Mrs Johnson really helped make it better too. I also really loved being part of the musical “Hadestown.” I met amazing and wonderful people during this and Ms Daniel was immensely encouraging.
What's your favorite place on campus and why?
Regester dorm because I get to see my favorite people at my second home.
Who's your favorite teacher and why?
My favourite teacher is Mrs. Perkins. I have never felt so cared for and noticed so far away from home as I have when I am talking to her about day to day problems. She is a wonderful Anatomy teacher but also an amazing friend. I don’t know how I would have survived senior year without her and Ms. Brewer.
What’s your favorite thing about Darlington?
My favourite thing about Darlington is how we get to try so many new things without fear of being made fun of or ridiculed in any way.
Describe an experience that you've had at Darlington that you couldn't have had anywhere else.
Rumpus! It brings dorms together, even despite all tensions being high between dorms, which is an aspect that I think makes it so much fun.
What are some of the ways you've grown since you first came to Darlington?
Mentally, I think I have really emotionally matured as an individual and now I tend to handle situations more clear-minded without having to put my emotions fully to the side.
What is your dream job?
To be a child psychologist
