Senior Reese Bell has been named Noon Optimist Student of the Month for February.

"What makes Reese truly special is her steady presence, self-awareness, and quiet leadership," said her advisor Ivy Brewer, dean of college guidance. "She is not someone who seeks attention, but her impact is lasting and deeply felt. Whether guiding younger students backstage [in a theater production], helping run a performance, or assisting faculty families, Reese approaches everything with a calm confidence, deep kindness, and a sense of responsibility that is rare."

A day student who has been enrolled at Darlington since third grade, Bell has taken 13 Honors and AP classes. She is a member of The Darlington Players theater program and will serve as company manager of the school's upcoming production of "Hadestown: Teen Edition" at the Rome City Auditorium. She is also a member of Spanish Club and is a talented pianist.

"Reese contributes meaningfully in many areas of campus life, especially in the arts," said Brewer. "As a faculty child and longtime boarding student, Reese has grown up in the heart of our campus community and has become one of its most reliable, creative, and deeply engaged members."

She has spent her summers working in Darlington's summer programs, including serving as a counselor at Darlington Theater Camp, Camp Delightascope and Maker Challenge Camp.

The son of Kim and Paul Bell of Cedar Bluff, Ala., Reese will be honored at an Optimist Club luncheon on Feb. 10.
