In this episode, Director of Annual Giving Julia Thomas talks with boarding alumnus Bill Gilliland ('76) about his Darlington story, from his favorite memories to his family's boarding legacy.
Julia Thomas ('07, LD '15) returned to her alma mater to serve as director of annual giving in 2015. She holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Georgia. Prior to her work in Darlington's Advancement Office, Julia was an intern here and also spent two years as an annual giving officer at the University of Georgia School of Law.
Bill Gilliland ('76) was a two-year boarding student from Greenwood, S.C. At Darlington, he played basketball and golf, and ran cross country. After graduation, he attended Duke University, where he earned a B.S. in electrical and electronics engineering. He later earned his MBA from the UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School, and has spent much of his career as an entrepreneur. He currently owns ActionCOACH Global, a business coaching firm. He currently lives in Montreat, N.C.
