The main goal of my project is to raise awareness of the ecosystems and species that are unique to the Rome area, specifically the Blacks Bluff Preserve and Marshall Forest. These two properties are owned by The Nature Conservancy, a nonprofit organization that works to preserve the plant and animal habitats by purchasing and protecting land.
I will pursue this goal by creating video projects to highlight and inform the community about different species of plants and animals, and The Nature Conservancy properties. Videography has been a hobby of mine since middle school. I have created multiple video projects before, but this one is unique because it serves an important purpose. In the past, I have focused on creating travel videos from all around the world in places such as Africa and Chile. In those videos, I would showcase natural and outdoor beauty so I am familiar with landscape and nature shots. With this project, however, I will be showcasing the natural beauty and complexity of the biodiversity in Rome, Ga.
I am very excited to see where this project will take me and I cannot wait to share my results!
