Mr. Kinney has coached Darlington's Robotics team, the DarBots, for over 10 years, and he is an exceptional coach. The team wanted to nominate him for the Compass Award because he is dedicated and extremely easy to work with daily.
The First Tech Challenge (FTC) Compass Award recognizes an adult coach or Mentor who has given outstanding guidance and support to a robotics team throughout the year and demonstrates to the team what it means to be a gracious professional. He spends a lot of extra time working with us after school and on the weekends. Mr. Kinney manages to provide individual attention to each team member and makes sure everyone understands their contribution to the team is important.
To be nominated for the award, a team member has to submit a video highlighting the coach's contribution to the team and demonstrates what sets the coach apart from others. I created the video, and I am excited Mr. Kinney received the Compass Award!
