Scholastic Art & Writing Awards Honors 11 Students

Each year since 1923, the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards honors young artists and writers nationwide for their talent. The following students join the ranks of some of our nation's most talented creative leaders who earned these same awards in their youth including Andy Warhol, Sylvia Plath, Truman Capote, Richard Avedon, Joyce Carol Oates and Lena Dunham.

Students receiving Gold Keys, Silver Keys, or Honorable Mentions will be published in Darlington's student literary magazine, Inkslinger. Student work will also be on display in an exhibit at SCAD in Atlanta. 

Gold Key works are judged nationally by an impressive panel of creative–industry experts to receive National Medals, including Gold, Silver, American Visions & Voices, Portfolio Silver with Distinction or Portfolio Gold Medals and Sponsored Awards. National Medalist are recognized in part at the National Ceremony at Carnegie Hall in New York City.
