Juan Angulo Reyes is a boarding senior from Saudi Arabia and has attended Darlington since his sophomore year. He is a member of the Darlington School Soccer Academy and serves as head resident prefect of Summerbell House.

What do you love most about Darlington?
At Darlington what I love the most is living with people from all over the world and living on campus. I also enjoyed traveling to many different places because of the Soccer Academy trips. It was enjoyable to get to know different places around the country while playing my sport.

What makes senior year special?
The best thing about senior year is seeing the rewards from all the work you have done throughout high school. It is great when you have worked your whole high school career to get into a certain school and you finally achieve it, or when you have been working hard to play a sport in college and you achieve it. I believe Darlington offers you the tools you need to be able to succeed.

Who has been your best teachernot necessarily your favorite, but who taught you the most?
My best teacher during my time at Darlington has been Mr. McDurmon. Even though the subject that he was teaching me wasn't my favorite, I enjoyed his methods of teaching and how he always got the whole class involved. His class was hard work but I learned a lot because of the way in which he explained everything, which was very easy to follow. I also liked the fact that he wanted to hear different opinions about a subject in class discussions.

How has Darlington shaped your future?
Darlington has shaped my future by preparing me with a good education inside and outside the classroom and giving me the opportunity to attend the college I wanted to go to. I believe that opportunity is the most important thing that Darlington has to offer. Darlington has also taught me a lot about relationships with people from all over the world, which I will use in the future.
