Can You Afford to Wait?

You can’t afford to wait and run the risk of your child being placed in a wait pool -- the delays and the unknown can be nerve racking!

It is a well-known fact that local families sometimes wait until 8th or 9th grade to move their children to Darlington.  There are many reasons for this, ranging from affordability to the child wanting to complete his or her current program before transferring.  However, it's important to note that it is becoming progressively more difficult to transfer to Darlington in the upper grades and projections indicate that this trend will continue.

For instance, last year the the cap for 7th and 9th grades was reached in July.  However, wait pools are forming much earlier this year.  In fact, we are already almost full in 8th grade and it's only April!

As a parent, you may ask yourself:  When is the right time?  At what age and grade does my child need to begin the journey at Darlington?  My answer to you is:  The time to explore the possibilities and the opportunities (academic, athletics or the arts) at Darlington is now!  Whether or not you are ready to make the move this fall, it doesn't hurt to explore your options.  Take a tour, meet students and faculty members, and take a good, hard look at our curricular and extracurricular offerings.

Of course, we know that many factors go into the decision of sending your child to independent school but unfortunately, many qualified students miss out on this wonderful opportunity because they assume it is out of reach.  My question to you is:  How can you not afford to see?
