Varsity Volleyball Splits Games

The Darlington varsity volleyball team defeated King’s Ridge last night and fell to Dalton. They won 2-0 against King’s Ridge by the scores of 25-14 and 25-20. Dalton defeated Darlington 2-0, 25-22 and 25-19. Carrie Simon led the Tigers with 14 kills, and Bailey Brock added 22 assists. Anna Kate Dulaney had a kill percentage of 32 percent. Coach Theresa Dulaney said, “The girls played really well in both games.” The Tigers moved to 9-6 on the season; their next game is Thursday, Sept. 1, at home. Both the JV and varsity teams will be competing against cross-town rival Rome High School and Chattooga.
