Faculty take on new roles for 2008-09

Several faculty and staff members will take on new and/or additional job roles in 2008-09. All changes are affective July 1, unless otherwise noted.

Jennifer Amobi will teach Middle School Spanish and coach varsity volleyball. She has taught Spanish at the Lower School and coached junior varsity volleyball for one year. Click here to read press release.

Jenni Butler will coach varsity cheerleading and continue to teach Middle School math. She has been at Darlington for one year.

Stephanie Corwin ('03) will coach varsity cheerleading and teach sixth-grade English. She has taught Spanish at the Middle School for one year.

Kevin Hunt will teach Upper School personal fitness and continue coaching football and track. He has been at Darlington for one year, and served previously as a community coach.

James Hutchins will coach Middle School softball and continue his duties as dean of studies and science teacher at the Middle School. He has been at Darlington since August 2002.

Julie Lucas ('97) will be responsible for the Rome-area focus of the Second Century Campaign. In this role, she will be responsible for directing the Rome Campaign Cabinet and all activities related to their work. Lucas has been at Darlington since November 2007 as a campaign regional director.

Debbie Greeson ('72T) will serve as development services officer in the Advancement Office. She will continue to oversee gift accounting while taking on additional responsibilities for departmental database management. She has been at Darlington since May 2006.

James Milford will serve as director of student life, and will continue his work as head of Darlington's residential life program. In this new role, he will no longer serve as a head of Cooper House. Milford has been at Darlington since July of 2001.

Lynda Miller will serve as executive assistant to the new athletic director, Bob Stinchcomb. She has been at Darlington since June 2004 and has worked in both the College Guidance Office and the Assistant Headmaster's Office.

Sally Muschamp will teach sixth-grade geography. She has taught English and writing courses at the Middle School since August 2001.

Debra Myrick has been named chairwoman of the math department. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from The Johns Hopkins University and a master’s in speech and hearing from Washington University. Myrick taught science and math at Darlington from 1988-1991 and returned in 2005. She was awarded the George W. Awsumb Faculty Award in 2008.

Alan Parish will coach varsity cross country and continue to teach graphic design. He has been at Darlington since August 2005. Click here to read press release.

Andrea Puckett will coach varsity softball and continue to teach Lower and Middle School French. She has been at Darlington for one year.

Jason Turner moved to the Advancement Office to take on the role of annual gifts officer, effective March 2008. He has been at Darlington since August 2002 and previously taught geography at the Middle School.

Vicki Vincent will serve as alumni relations officer in the Advancement Office. Her previous roles at Darlington have included director of development services, office manager, gift registrar, Annual Fund assistant and class agent officer. In her new position in the Alumni Office, Vincent will maintain her responsibilities for the Class Agent Program.

Ken Wempe will coach Middle School cross country and continue his duties as dean of students and English teacher at the Middle School. He has been at Darlington since August 1997.
