Seniors Leave Darlington for 65 Colleges and Universities:

June 1, 1999 | 1992 views

Seniors process to the Chapel lawn with their class during commencement exercises Saturday, May 22.
Dean of Studies & College Guidance Sam Moss ’63 reports that Darlington has completed “another wonderful year” in college admission, with competition particularly keen in more selective colleges.

“Our seniors got a great deal of good news in their mailboxes,” Moss said. “Happily, a number of very selective colleges took virtually all or most of our applicants – certainly a higher percentage than the national norm. As usual, our seniors were accepted at a wide range of fine public and private colleges and universities throughout the country.”

In addition, Moss reported that 41 seniors have “distinguished themselves and brought honor to Darlington” by winning 61 scholarships, totaling in excess of $1.5 million. “This has been a wonderful year for Darlington in college admission. Our seniors did extremely well for themselves in gaining admission to a wonderful variety of colleges.”
