Welcome to a new school year! The DarShop is located in Wilcox Hall on the Upper School campus. It will be open Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm, and will be closed for lunch from 12-12:30. New merchandise arrives throughout the year, so please stop by. There will also be a table set up with select items at the home football game on Friday, August 29. Join us for the first Pre-K to 8th Grade Tiger Pride Meeting of the year on Monday, August 25, at 8:15 a.m. in the Joanne G. Yancey Library at Thatcher Hall.
We’ll kick off the year by sharing exciting plans and opportunities to get involved with Tiger Pride.
We’re excited to welcome Mitch Jordan, Darlington’s new athletic director, and Leah Lynn, who will share helpful updates on Toddle and Veracross.

Owen Kinney, head of the science department, will be offering his fourth Spring Break trip to the Galapagos Islands and Quito, Ecuador in March 2026. Over his 26 years at Darlington, Mr. Kinney has led eight student/family trips to Latin America that focus on tropical biodiversity, culture, and photography. Jaclyn Haynes, Science teacher and Cooper House resident, will be joining the trip as a chaperone. The Galapagos Islands are a world renowned travel destination, offering incredible experiences for adventurers of all ages!

For students in grades Pre-K to 8, Picture Day will be on Tuesday, Aug. 26, from 8-11 a.m. in the library at Thatcher Hall.
Darlington will again partner with Kelly Moore Photography to complete our student portraits.
Please make sure your child wears his or her purple polo shirt. Yellow or white shirts, plaid jumpers, hoodies, sweaters, sweatshirts, other outerwear, and/or athletic attire are not allowed.
Purchasing: Once the portraits are ready, you will have the option to purchase it as a digital file or physical photograph via our distribution resource, SmugMug, that the school has used in previous years. The link will be re-sent at a later time when portraits are complete.

We are looking for students in grades 6–8 who may be interested in joining an after-school singing group! The group would hopefully meet once a week from 4:15–5:00 p.m. If you or your student would like to participate, please complete the Google Form linked below.
