Students arriving after 8 a.m. will be considered tardy. If a student arrives after 8 a.m., the parent must escort the child to the front office in Thatcher Hall for check in.
A Darlington student needs to learn how to be punctual. Occasional unexpected circumstances may cause tardiness, but habitual late arrival at school is not permissible. Not only does it defeat the learning of punctuality, but it is also disturbing to the student, teacher, and other children in the classroom.
Prompt arrival is a parental responsibility. However, should a parent be unable to assure his or her child's timely arrival on a regular basis, the administration will contact the parents or guardians to discuss the necessity of the timely arrival and the consequences of additional late arrivals. This communication will take place as the school deems necessary.
