She holds a B.A. in Communication from the University of South Florida, Tampa, and multiple certifications and endorsements, including Master Journalism Educator. She is currently pursuing her Masters in Journalism Education from Kent State University. At Darlington, Katie advises Darlingtonian.com, the Jabberwokk yearbook and Inkslinger literary magazine. She is a member of the Georgia Scholastic Press Association (GSPA), Columbia Scholastic Press Association (CSPA), National Scholastic Press Association (NSPA), and serves as a director-at-large for the Journalism Education Association (JEA).

I recently had the opportunity to attend the JEA Advisers Institute (JEAai) held in New Orleans July 5-8.
