The 13th Annual Third-Grade Wax Museum was a scientific exploration of some of the world’s most intriguing animals with one specific question in mind: Who Would Win? This year’s museum was a nonfiction presentation based on the series of books by the same name, "Who Would Win?" by Jerry Pallotta, with a most fascinating supposition. It is from this pondering that the museum received its theme: Who Would Win? A Biological Exploration Into The World’s Greatest Animal Battles. For several months after the theme was revealed, our 37 third-graders set out to discover if these clashes did take place who would win in these epic battles. The students were each assigned a book with their battle (Polar Bear vs. Grizzly Bear, Rhino vs. Hippo, Hornet vs. Wasp, etc.). Each student wrote an essay based on their reading and research, developed an animal life cycle stop motion project on the iPad, created a paper mache version of their animal, and memorized English and Spanish speeches to share their information with museum visitors.
