A Darlington student is made up of many things. None of which is average. We help our students develop their interests, passions and pursuits, because we believe every individual has something to contribute. We also believe that only when you're 100% you, are you 100% Darlington.
Here at Darlington, every student’s path is different. We think that's a good thing.
Let’s get to know William Wang, a four-year boarding student from Hangzhou, China, who loves to make music.

What are you involved in at Darlington?
I have sponsored a few iPeriods, such as Intro to Magic Tricks, Origami, Ping Pong, Compost, etc. I am a four-year DarFarmer and the vice president of the Physics Club. I play drums for the band and musical, and I sing bass for the Concert Choir and Random Notes.

Individual performances. I enjoy playing in small pop-jazz bands with people such as Neal Yin ('20), Elliot Luitwieler ('22), Jack Cowan ('23), Tommy Cowan ('24), McKee Duncan ('26), etc. We play cover songs and sometimes originals, and perform at various places such as the library and during assembly.
What's your favorite place on campus and why?
The band room. It's where I jam and practice drums and piano every day and do all my recordings.
Who's your favorite teacher and why?
Mr. Shorey. He has taught me math for three years and is a fun person to talk to. I always have no pressure asking him dumb questions in class or showing him (and Mr. Woods, too) my new magic tricks during office hours.
