Let’s get to know Ellie Allen, a 14-year day student from Rome who has called Darlington’s beautiful, 500-acre campus home since she was a little girl.

Arts, friends, family

“New Girl”

What house are you a member of?
Thornwood
What are you involved in at Darlington?
Darlingtones a cappella choir, GSA, Green Team, Inkslinger, Concert Choir (vice president)
If you are involved in fine arts, what is your favorite activity and why?
Anything involving music, like Darlingtones and Concert Choir.
What's your favorite place on campus and why?
The trees and everything around the lake; it’s very peaceful. I love nature.
Who's your favorite teacher and why?
My dad, Mr. Allen, because he's my dad, and also Mrs. King because she's very patient.
What’s your favorite thing about Darlington?
The connections; everyone knows everyone all around the world, all because of Darlington.
Describe an experience that you've had at Darlington that you couldn't have had anywhere else.
A campus with so many outlets to nature. With things like the lake and the hiking trails, Darlington is the most beautiful high school campus I’ve seen.
What are some of the ways you've grown since you first came to Darlington?
I've become proud enough of who I am to start the school GSA (Gay/Straight Alliance), and I've learned how to be a leader, especially in things like the arts.
What is your dream job?
Veterinarian or a musician
