As a college student, you have many professors. None can compare to my advisor in college, Dr. Scott Sykes. I mean, how many college professors attend their students' weddings? Dr. Sykes not only attended my wedding (back in November, 2001), but he attends many other weddings of his students.
I ask Dr. Sykes to speak to my AP Calculus BC class every year. I do this mainly because I talk about him throughout the year and I want the students to know the man I mention for 10 months. It is usually a phone call just confirming a question about a problem or talking about infinite series. This year, he wanted to come to campus to speak. He gave the calculus students a snapshot of where the calculus they are learning now could lead, and gave them tips on how to remember methods for the AP test.
Thank you for your time Dr. Sykes. You will always be a celebrity in AP Calculus BC classes!
