Student-athletes recognized at Fall Sports Assembly

Outstanding athletes in varsity cheerleading, crew, cross country, football, softball and volleyball were recognized at the Fall Sports Assembly on Monday, Dec. 8, in Morris Chapel. 

In cheerleading: 

Senior Rachel Hudson of Rome received Scholar-Athlete and Captain’s awards. 

Senior Anna Loyd of Rome received the Co-Captain Award. 

In crew: 

Seniors Mario Dinatti of Rome and Natalie Collins of Calhoun, Ga., received Scholar-Athlete Awards.

Seniors Jazlyn Green and Stevenson Walker, both of Rome, and senior Mary Frances Vest of Powder Springs, Ga., were named 4-Year Letter Winners.

In cross country:

Seniors Katie Hutchins and Hope Roberson, both of Rome, as well as Spencer Fields of Kingston, Ga., received Scholar-Athlete Awards. 

Seniors Kinslee Clevenger and Lauren Hooper, both of Rome, as well as Spencer Fields of Kingston, Ga., and junior Jared Deaton of Mount Berry, Ga., received Captains’ Awards. 

Senior Tina Chea of Nassau, The Bahamas, and sophomore Blake Lowenberg of Summerville, Ga., received Most Improved Awards.

Seniors Stephanie Ward of Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, and Spencer Fields of Kingston, Ga., were named Most Valuable Runners.

In football: 

Junior Hunter Manning of Rome received the Scholar-Athlete Award. 

Seniors Brooks Busby and Trey Edge, both of Rome, as well as Tripp Flournoy of Cartersville, Ga., and Robert Muschamp of Cave Spring, Ga., received Captain's Awards.

In softball: 

Junior Alyse Redden of Cedartown, Ga., received the Scholar-Athlete Award.

Senior Emily Swafford of Dallas, Ga., received the Silver Slugger Offensive Award. 

Juniors Keara Evans of Rome and Alyse Redden of Cedartown, Ga., received Captain’s Awards

Junior Keara Evans of Rome received the Golden Spike Defensive Award.

Junior Lillie Bertelkamp of Knoxville, Tenn. and freshman Aisling Fields of Cordele, Ga., received Tiger Awards.

Senior Emily Swafford of Dallas, Ga., was named Most Valuable Player and 4-Year Letter Winner.

In volleyball: 

Senior Hannah Schriever of Rome received the Scholar-Athlete Award. 

Senior Abby Cook of Cedartown, Ga., received the True Grit Award.

Sophomore Addie Holmes of Rome was named Most Outstanding Player.

Freshman Callie Maffett of Rome was named Most Valuable Player.
