Alumni Weekend is scheduled for September 26-28, and it’s shaping up to be another fantastic event! We will be celebrating reunions for classes ending in 4 and 9, and class agents and volunteers are working to set plans for their individual class parties.
We will also be celebrating our girls’ basketball program – Coach Bob Pels, who taught and coached here in the mid-80s, is organizing a reunion of the women who played on his teams, spotlighting the 1986 team that went undefeated in their regular season at the Friday evening football pre-game.
We are excited to introduce our new Head of School Brent Bell to our alumni community on Saturday morning at a Town Hall meeting in the McCallie-Kennedy Library. This event will give Brent the opportunity to share his view of Darlington and answer questions from alumni.

Friday, September 26
11:00 a.m. – Darlington Celebration honoring Distinguished Alumni Robert L. Berry (’64) and William C. Gordon (’64) in Morris Chapel
Noon to 1:30 p.m. – Distinguished Alumnus Luncheon in Dodd Banquet Room
1:45 p.m. – Second Century Campaign Donor Wall Unveiling in Thatcher Hall
5:30 p.m. – Pre-Game Picnic on Morris Chapel Lawn
7:00 p.m. – Pre-Game Spotlight on Girls' Basketball at Chris Hunter Stadium (Members of all former girls' basketball teams are invited to join us on the field as we recognize the legacy of excellence in this program.)
7:30 p.m. – Homecoming Football Game at Chris Hunter Stadium, which will include a Halftime at the Huff reception for all alumni in the Yancey Suite of the Huffman Center
Saturday, September 27
11:00 a.m. – Town Hall Meeting with Head of School Brent Bell in the McCallie-Kennedy Library
Noon – Alumni & Friends Cookout on the Morris Chapel Lawn
1:00 to 3:00 p.m. – Student-Led Campus Tours
4:00 to 5:00 p.m. – Golden Tigers & Golden Thistle Induction Ceremony at the Home-on-the-Hill in honor of alumni celebrating their 50th reunion or greater
5:00 to 7:00 p.m. – Alumni Cocktail Party & Class Pictures at the Home-on-the-Hill
7:00 p.m. – Individual Class Parties at various locations TBA
Sunday, September 28
11:00 a.m. – Service of Remembrance in Morris Chapel to honor alumni we have lost in the past year; officiated by a "mystery guest" of the Class of 1969
Noon – J. Daniel Hanks Heritage Society Luncheon in Dodd Banquet Room
