Soccer Academy Takes ‘College Prep’ to a New Level

Not only do Darlington School Soccer Academy players train, travel and compete like college players, they are exposed to and held accountable for achieving success in college-level academics, too. By the end of their career at Darlington, student-athletes in the Soccer Academy are extremely well prepared to be college athletes.

Our seniors, who will walk across the stage at Darlington's Commencement ceremony next weekend, will enter college athletics with a tremendous amount of experience under their belts. During their three to four years with Darlington School Soccer Academy, they have played thousands of minutes against top-level college teams as well as international professional clubs and youth academies.

This spring alone, our girls competed against Shorter University, Auburn University of Montgomery, Huntington College, Middle Georgia College, top-level clubs like the Texans, as well as international teams from Mexico. Our boys have played the Bermuda National Team, the Monterey Ryados Youth, FESA from El Salvador, Colaste Academy from Ireland, Shorter University, Rheinhardt College, Lincoln Memorial College, USC Aiken, University of Alabama Huntsville, Southern Poly, Truett McConnell, Georgia Gwinnett College, Erskine College and Covenant College, to name a few.

The upcoming 2013-14 school year will mark the Soccer Academy's 10th anniversary, and the Class of 2013 has set the bar high for future graduating classes by signing for more than $2.5 million in scholarships. (This number does not include any future athletic increases in scholarship or all the many offers made to the Class of 2013.) Check out where they are going below.
