Students in Mr. Eberhart's Algebra 1 Honors course created a fun lab to apply their equation skills.
The lab went like this...
1) Students needed to figure out what their constant speed was walking and running.
2) Students needed to create a scenario. Ex. Student A is running (at their speed) from the goal line running south, Student B is walking from the 40 yard line (40 yards away) in the same direction at their constant speed.
3) Questions to answer... How long will it take for the runner to catch the walker? At what yard line would they meet? What equation could you create to figure this out?
They successfully calculated, and we were spot on in the real-life application! Great job!
