Natalie Horah, Gabby Jones, Chris Mauer, Carolyn Nida and Tejas Reddy have been selected to perform this weekend as part of the GISA All-Select Middle School Band.
"The ensemble is comprised of the top students from all GISA schools, and I am so proud of these five students for accomplishing this goal," said band director Chris Holloway, who nominated the students. "This is a fantastic opportunity for them to perform and connect with students in other instrumental programs. I have no doubt that they will represent Darlington's ELA-8 program very well in the All-Select performance."
The students will go through an audition process for chair placements on Saturday morning, which will be followed by rehearsals from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. They will rehearse again on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and then perform at 3 p.m. at Mt. De Sales Academy in Macon, Ga.
