Outstanding athletes in baseball, golf, lacrosse, soccer, tennis, and track and field were recognized at the
Spring Sports Assembly Monday, April 30, in Morris Chapel.
In baseball:
Junior Brad Butler of Rome received the Scholar-Athlete Award.
Seniors Carson Googe of Cedartown, Ga., Cole Miller of Cave Spring, Ga., and Oren Wilson of Rome received Coaches' Awards.
In golf:
Junior Ryan Haley of Rome and senior MaryPage Evans of Savannah, Ga., received Scholar-Athlete Awards.
Haley was also named Most Improved along with sophomore Maggie Ashmore of Kingston, Ga.
Sophomores Josh Buttshaw and Peyton Albertson of Rome received Coaches' Awards.
Senior Zachary Vick of Rome and sophomore Hannah Mae Deems of Taylorsville, Ga., were named MVPs.
In lacrosse:
Junior Asa Crawford and senior Anna Grace Rutledge of Rome received Scholar-Athlete Awards.
Rutledge was also named MVP, along with junior Zack McConnell of Rome.
Junior Wil Taylor and senior Carrie Simon of Rome were named Most Improved.
Juniors Sam Talley, Jeremy Smith and Bailey Brock of Rome received Coaches' Awards.
Sophomore Jule Peek of Rome received the Exemplary Attitude Award.
Sophomore Will Goldin of Rome was named Best Teammate.
Sophomore Garrett Morgan of Rome was named Most Valuable Attack.
Sophomore Chas Williams of Rome was named Most Valuable Midfield.
Sophomore Thomas Gilbert of Rome was named Most Valuable Defense.
In soccer:
Seniors John Wilhoite of Cartersville, Ga., and Andrea Martinez of Mexico City, Mexico, received Scholar-Athlete Awards.
Wilhoite also received a Captain's Award, along with senior Shan Paracka of Rome, junior Sydney Greene of Rome and senior Rebecca Schenk of Hickory, N.C.
Greene was also named MVP, along with junior Baxter McWhorter of Rome.
Junior Feyi Alufohai of Doha, Qatar, and senior Marvin Mugisha of Kigali, Rwanda, received Coaches' Awards.
In tennis:
Senior Keenan Freyberg, junior Will Warren of Rome and senior Avani Reddy of Rome received Scholar-Athlete Awards.
Senior Dent Law and sophomore Sarah Cait Hubbard of Rome were named MVPs.
Senior Jackson Pittard of Savannah, Ga., and junior Maria Barragan of Guavaquil, Ecuador, received Coaches' Awards.
In track and field:
Junior Remy Jennings and senior Jesse Baker of Rome received Scholar-Athlete Awards.
Baker also received a Coaches' Award, along with senior Marissa McKoy of Rome.
Senior Lindsay Evans and junior Alex Cox of Rome were named Most Improved.
Seniors Paige Banks of Atlanta, Ga.; Ansley McDurmon of Rome and Cam Collins of Calhoun, Ga., were named MVPs.
