We recently announced that Darlington is hosting two separate SAT/ACT prep courses, beginning in January, in an effort to provide additional support to our students. This blog will provide more information about the online course.
Edsortium (www.Edsortium.com/Darlington), the company offering the online course, uses technology to give students access to world-class educators in a variety of subjects. Right now, they are focused on ACT/SAT prep classes with plans of adding Math, Science and Language courses in the coming months.
Two of the company's founders will be at Darlington on Friday, Dec. 9, to talk with us more about their approach to the SAT and ACT and to distribute some materials for the course.
Steve Leake, Edsortium founder and instructor of Darlington's online prep course, has been preparing students to get higher scores for over 25 years. His approach is simple - to help students understand how these tests are written so that they can improve their scores and increase their college and scholarship options dramatically.
He says, "There are only easy questions that look easy, and easy questions that look hard, but there are no hard questions! Education is not just learning the material; it's learning how to learn. That's what we do.”
Steve's course will target the Jan. 28 SAT and the Feb. 11 ACT. Students can use the online course to prepare for either or both. Additionally, because the course is online, it is also recorded. Edsortium allows registered students to have complete access to the Class Archive so they can review each class as often as they’d like.
Finally, students will be able to retake the class as many times as they like for future tests, at no extra charge.
If you have any further questions, you may contact Edsortium directly or feel free to call me at 706-802-4392.
