Fourth-grader Cara Key was named winner of the Lower School's first annual spelling bee Friday, Jan. 19. Runners up included fifth-grader Sammi Harton (2nd place), fourth-grader Kyle Wagers (3rd place) and fourth-grader Anne Marie McDurmon. Thirty students from each grade participated in the competition. Words were supplied by the Georgia Association of Educators. Winners will have the opportunity to compete in the Floyd County Spelling Bee. Key is the daughter of Carrie and Dan Key of Calhoun, Ga.
